So, Roger bikes to work on many mornings, and usually its an uneventful affair. But this morning at about 9:30 am we received a call from an ambulance driver that reported that he had a Roger Loghney in the back, and he was on the way to the hospital. It turns out Roger was rear-ended by a tri-axle (read coal truck) while climbing a hill, and was sent sailing 30 feet off the road. The ambulance driver quickly followed up by saying that Roger was banged-up, but for the most part, he was OK. They were going to take him to the hospital for a once over, but he should be ready to go home in a few hours.
We are looking forward to a full report from Roger when he comes back, but in the meantime, we are really, really glad he is OK, and thanks goes out to the folks at Highland Hospital in Connellsville who took care of him, and let me take this rather candid picture of the patient.

yes, wait until you see some pics of the bike. 23,000 pounds of steel, bring it. i busted the headlight and dinged the bumper of that stupid truck. being that i have now pressed the limits of what my body can withstand, i think a 200 footer isn’t out the question!

You’re like The Kid, “titanium man!” Glad you’re good to go. 200 footer shouldn’t be much of a problem.

You look good in the hospital gown – at least you were already used to wearign a skirt. Just kidding – I’m really glad you’re ok. My fiance bikes to work and has been hit by a car twice already, so I understand how worried your coworkers and family must have felt when they got the phone call. I hope you’re feeling all good by now!

Rodger my man I’m glad to see you are still around. Not that a tri-axle could take you out! Speedy recovery and gear that rubber back on the road! Paul C.

Well Roger, if you had died, it would’ve at least been my honor to organize & emcee the topless dancing revue at your funeral. Don’t expect such pomp & circumstances on your next visit to Colorado, though: we reserve the homegrown bouncin’ boobie bonanzas for major life events….
… though I do have to say, surviving a man-to-Mack collision might be one of ‘em! We’re thrilled to hear you’re doing well, old friend. Don’t scare us again like this, okay Rog??
