The Cape Capers Expedition was a three+ week long ocean kayak tour of the tip of Vancouver Island, from Port Hardy to Brook’s Bay, roughly a hundred miles of the wildest, most remote and challenging stretches of coast in BC.  My son and I paddled together from Hardy Bay to the lighthouse at the cape, then split up. Brook continued around alone while I paddled back to Goletas Channel and the long haul to the rig, at which point I negotiated an epic matrix of active logging roads (with BIG LOG TRUCKS) to a secret beach in Brook’s Bay where I chilled and Brook eventually showed up with a busted bow and totaled rudder but grinning like a kid at Christmas!

The Double D monkey suit is sick.  Brook is a furnace and he didn’t overheat (or I would have heard about it) and there was little to evaporate when he pulled it inside out each night.  I’d say the new fourth layer to the fabric is definitely win/win.  We both liked the back shoulder entry.  Zips are smooth and secure.  Suit is PANZER tough, nothing close to a snag, tear or leak.  In fact, we liked the hand of the fabric; with a tad more body than other suits it felt well matched to the kind of armor it is.

Finally, I was reading the skirt blog at IR and thinking, ‘whoa, no skirt here’!  For you SoT kayakers CHECK IT OUT.  It’s hard to find a suit built for SoT users.
