IR sponsored the 2010 NCKFA Fall Classic, a kayak fishing tournament held at Oak Island, NC.
The event was well attended by anglers and family members alike. There were a total of 48 registered anglers in the four divisions; King Mackerel,Redfish, Trout and Flounder. This was the first ever kayak fishing tournament in North Carolina to have a King Mackerel division and we are proud to announce that there were 3 hooked and 1 landed. The winning fish went over 45 inches!
NCKFA founder, Mark Patterson, who headed up the event, commented on IR’s involvement. “It was a lot of work (organizing the event) but very exciting. In regards to IR, I personally use the gear on the water to fish year round and was very pleased to have them as a tournament sponsor. IR has paddling/fishing gear to make your time on the water well spent. Thanks to IR for all you do for the NCKFA.”

Offshore winds at Oak Island make glassy waters, smooth paddling and great fishing. Mark Patterson heads out to wet a line.

Thanks for sponsoring the tournament. It was well run and alot of fun.
I had a blast at this event! I can't thank you and the other sponsors enough for the fun and expirence I gained that day! I certainly hope that you will be a sponsor again next year so that the fun will be able to continue. Next year's numbers should be greater once the stories circulate about the fun of this year! Can't wait!! Thanks!
Thanks for sponsoring the tournament. We had a great time. I prefished the area for a few days before the tournament and the mornings on the water were cold so I bought an IR jacket….What a great product. Warm and dry. I'll be ready for musky fishing this winter.
