Not to belittle the accomplishment, but does it count if you swim?
excellent question.
you be the judge…
Cool feat but I think both have to stay in the boat for it to be a succesful claim. Plus paddlers have rocked that drop for years and have gone twice as high. Its a fun stunt, nothing more.
I'm inclined to agree. Call me a traditionalist, but you got to stay in the boat to claim it.
Ok, We'll admit- its not an "official" world record, but our team member did stay in the boat and roll up- unfortunately, the other guy did not. It is some great entertainment however!
Dont you think its still a record till some other or same dudes make another fall with out a swimmer?
I think that really both people just have to live for it to be successfull. It was definitely more successfull for the guy in the back of the topo duo and next time they might have to gorrilla tape the little guy into the front of the boat.
I agree that for a waterfall descent, just surviving it makes it a success, but for a *kayak* waterfall descent, it must be successfully completed in the kayak…otherwise, what's the distinction?
if that´s the highest waterfall on wich two men dared to ride a k2 kayak, I assume that there should n´t be many people willing to attempt it…!
congrats to you
