The first year IR was around and these were in production was also the first year I was paddling C1, having switched from OC that summer. At the time, a few people thought I was taking a gamble picking up an IR Session from CKS while guiding on the Arkansas. The skeptics were wrong. That drytop has survived four seasons of guiding in Colorado and seven years of year-round slalom training since. With the help of a little 303, I am even still on the original gaskets. Every other piece of paddling gear I had from then has completely disintegrated by now. I still use this top. Just this morning when going for a morning paddle in my DR boat on the Catawba, this top went with. Nice work guys.

Thanks Joel. You can find out more about Joel and his involvement with paddling and whitewater slalom at http://performancepaddlesport.com

Thanks for all your help in getting us the gear and clothes we needed for our trip down the Grand Canyon! It was a fantastic experience, helped at every turn by the great IR items we brought. The new bamboo thin skin shirts are awesome and I wore one every day on the river. They are super soft and washed and dried well. My new thick skin shirt was a dream and I wore it most days and slept in it a few others! And everything looks like new after 25 days on the water. Chris loves his thick skin shirt and drytop and wouldn’t have been comfortable without them.

Mr. Whittemore,

After looking at the IR website, it seems you are the man that I should send this email to (though after reading the job descriptions I was tempted to send it to John Weld… haha). I just wanted to tell you that my mother bought me a pair of your IR capri’s online, along with a bunch of other capri’s from miscellaneous other companies, for Christmas because I needed Muslim-appropriate dress because I was leaving for West Africa shortly after the holidays. Well, as I can imagine you know- ordering clothes online without trying them on or knowing the brand can end in disaster; however when I put on the capri’s (which are not only sensible, and comfortable- but very stylish!) they fit like they were made for me. I was thrilled with them, and have appreciated their light weight material, nice pattern and general wearability.
But today as I sat in the back of the compound (home for 6 months) scrubbing laundry in tubs with a bar of ‘local soap’ and cold water my appreciation and love of IR grew tremendously. They scrub out SO easily, honestly I wish I had 10 more pairs like them in different colors and styles! I had to laugh, because it was the highlight of my day discovering just how great those pants are (they even dried on the line in no time at all).

Nellica making something delicious

Well, Mr. Whittemore, I just wanted to tell you that you guys are doing a great job with your products and I will definitely be an advocate of anything IR. I can’t wait to get back in the States, for a million reasons (one being washers and dryers, another being brownie sundaes) but also because I look forward to buying more products from your company.

Thank you so much for the great pants, and thank you even MORE for making laundry by hand less miserable.

Your new loyal customer,

Nellica

Dave Simonetti won the IR Mustache King “2008 Curt Davis Invitational Mustache Growing Contest of Paddlesports.” He is the Mustache King, and the King only has the best things that life offers. IR products naturally fall into that category.

King Simonetti himself commented, “Though the quality of IR products always seems to be really high, I was particular impressed with the fit and construction of the suit. I can actually get it zipped up all by myself and having the zipper across the shoulders gives you really good mobility while padding. It is also warm and TOTALLY dry as the pics of my leisure time in 39 degree water will show. This drysuit may be the nicest thing I own.”

Here is a photo before Simonetti was crowned as the IR Mustache King. You can clearly see that His Highness was underdressed for Kingly activities like reclining in frigid water and laughing at the river, and that he had other “ailments” to worry about at the time.

Comparably, the Tick, not a Mustache King but certainly a Mustache wearing Superhero, also wears IR gear. It’s obvious that he has chosen the Union Suit as his primary attire.

My name is Ted and I don’t kayak…well, I do, but for fishing not the white water stuff you guys do. I am part of a growing number of guys that swim to submerged rocks off of Montauk, NY beaches at night to catch Striped Bass. It’s pretty cool! Anyway, my point is we wear wetsuits, studded boots, head lamps etc and swim out between 20-100 yards off the beach, find our rock (in the dark) crawl up and stand and then begin to cast all niight in pursuit of that pig of a lifetime. This time of the year we need to wear either a waterproof jacket or splash top over the wetsuit to keep our body warm above the water. I recently bought one of your Comp semi dry tops second hand and it is the sh!t! Everyone asks me who made it and how much etc etc. You will be having a few more surfcasters narrow down your inventory soon. Anyways, I was on your website and I saw the snow camo top and absolutely need to have it. Can you please tell me what I need to do to get one?

Please advise… and keep building the creme de la tops!

Sincerely,
