IR Customer Service TV 6: Replacing latex wrist gaskets
May 14th, 2008 · 2 Comments
This is the first of a two part series on how you can replace the latex gaskets on your dry top yourself. The first part is on the wrist gaskets, and the second (coming soon) will be on how to replace the neck gasket.
Postscript: OK- I have heard like 6 people tell me I look like a zombie during this episode. My apologies- thats what having an 11 day old baby in your house will do- so cut me some slack:) I will try to be more “peppy” for you all next time.

Eternity Hole
May 14th, 2008 · No Comments
Yo everybody. Jared Seiler here. A few weeks back it was nice and warm out down around Asheville NC. So, my brother Graham and I decided to take a day off from the Green and go do some play-boating in the New Pyranha REV over at the Eternity Hole; about an hour drive west of Asheville. We brought some cheerleaders with us to help promote the New boat. Hope you like the video!

Recycling Day at IR
May 13th, 2008 · No Comments
Recycling day is an exciting day at IR for many reasons. There is the obvious reason of constantly trying to reduce our impact on the environment, but mainly, we are excited to free up the space that our recycling bins take up. As you can see in the picture, we place 125 cubic foot cardboard gaylords on palettes and line them up throughout our facility, and being that our pickup is every four weeks, we end up with about 6 full containers here. With that much recycling going on, we don’t even fill up our dumpster in two weeks.
We use a company called Jasar Recycling out of eastern Ohio (www.jasarrecycling.com) to pick up our goods. Pickup is free as their revenue is generated on the back end. They take almost everything and are currently working on ways to recycle styrofoam. They recycle unwanted mail, old packing lists, bottles, cans, shrink wrap, overthruster scraps etc. One of the coolest things that they do is recycle shrink wrap by melting it down and making it into little pellets and sell them to a company that makes hula hoops. They are used as fill to make the rattling noise!
Ways you can help us reduce our footprint:
-when sending back garments for repair, don’t use extra packaging. Skirts don’t need to be protected by styrofoam peanuts!
-send us boxes that we can reuse. Exception: the box you send to us has been re-used lots and is fit to be recycled
-have us email you order confirmations and invoices as opposed to mailing them
-email us our invoices and order confirmations
-recycle our packaging and packing slips and reuse our boxes.
-support our efforts by checking out our ever increasing line of goods made from sustainable materials: Enviroskin Products, Thin Skin Products, Basec T’s, Arbolito Pants and Shorts and See Change Jacket.

May 8th, 2008 · 8 Comments
Please welcome Asher Daniel Weld, son of John and Kara. Born Friday, May 2nd at 11:01 pm. He weighed in at a mighty 9 lbs 4 oz. and was 21″tall. Mom and baby (and Dad of course) are doing great, and big brother Aidan is super stoked to have a little playmate.
The name….we just liked it, and middle name is named after our dear friend Daniel DeLaVergne.
What do you think of the name Asher? Please leave us a comment.

IR Customer Service TV Episode 5- pre-stretching skirts and comp necks
April 21st, 2008 · No Comments
Two of the most common fit-related questions we get at IR are in regards to our rand-style spray skirts, and our all-neoprene Comp Jacket neck gasket. Both of these products are very tight when brand new, and require a little pre-stretching for a comfortable fit. This quick video shows the technique.
